A tribute to the angular beauty of Cubism, the Kju Bist Dining Chair transforms functional seating into sculptural form. With bold geometric lines and a fragmented silhouette, its design echoes the radical vision of Picasso and Braque—where form is deconstructed and reassembled into expressive clarity.

Handcrafted in Portugal, the chair features a lacquered multicolour frame and a plush bouclé seat and backrest. The inverted triangle of the backrest creates striking negative space, while planar surfaces play with shadow and depth. Both a visual statement and a functional seat, Kju Bist integrates seamlessly into contemporary interiors with a strong artistic identity.

Malabar
Portugal | Design Atelier

Rooted in the cultural richness of Portuguese heritage, Malabar is a design atelier that brings bold artistry and local craftsmanship into contemporary form. Each creation is a fusion of sculptural imagination and traditional know-how—handcrafted by skilled artisans who honor time-tested woodworking, joinery, and marquetry techniques.

Malabar’s pieces are layered with narrative and intent, often drawing inspiration from modernist masters, architectural icons, and poetic abstraction. With a distinctive design language that merges surreal form and refined finish, Malabar invites collectors and designers to experience furniture as functional art.

The result: pieces that are expressive yet enduring, unexpected yet harmonious—made not just to fill a space, but to transform it.
